We don’t boast when we say we have probably one of the finest views in Belize. Looking out of the Restaurant you can gaze out, over the Citrus
Groves to the Maya Mountains. The view changes every day with the weather and the seasons. We also have a pretty fancy garden as
well, with mahogany trees, avocados, mangos, coconuts and a wide variety of palm trees of different species.
Just look at some of the great shots of the view and the grounds, Belize is a place of beauty and tranquility and here we offer both along with great food and a comfortable bed.
The bent pine tree you’ll probably notice is a part of our new logo.
Belize hosts a huge variety of birds (the feathered kind) and ornithologists form all over the world come here to look at the exotic species which fly around. JB’s offers a wide variety
which you will see whilst you relax over lunch or take a stroll around the grounds.
JB’s was the first Bar ever on the Western Highway where people could get food. It was also the first bar with a Helipad where Army helicopters and Rescue teams can land. Now we’ve made history yet again as we are now the first AIR-CONDITIONED Bar on the Western Highway as well!
Once upon a time, JB’s had birds inside a cage, but we don’t believe in caging birds unless they are unable to enjoy life in the wild because of injury, in which case, they are better cared for in
the Belize Zoo, which is a MUST for any visitor to Belize. In season, the Zoo often offers night tours, which is something completely different to the daytime experience. The zoo is only a
couple of miles down the road, you can hop on a bus just outside on the road and get off right at the gate of the zoo.
The zoo houses a magnificent Harpy Eagle, which in itself is worth the trip to the Zoo.
JB’s is also the headquarters of the Belize German Shepherd Dog Club. When we came out here we brought with us 3 adult from Germany. These are kept in
our house and garden, but if you admire German Shepherd Dogs, take a look at these. We also breed GSD’s and you may
catch a glimpse of puppies from time to time. We have Django, Toby, Ullie, and Göll, all are pure German lines imported from Germany.
Our dogs are not allowed in the Bar or Restaurant. If you bring your pet dog here, you can keep it in your room without a problem, but not everyone wants to have your dog hairs in their food or on their clothes!
