The Mountain View Cabana
This is the best Cabana of the lot!. Now it’s also the only one until we build some more! The view from the stoep is spectacular This is also a
typical Belizean wooden house built on ‘stilts’. Building them on stilts has several advantages. Firstly they get the nice cool breezes, which you  come to appreciate when you live out here.
Secondly, building the house on stilts keeps a lot of the local ‘bugs’ out. The Mountain View has a metal roof.
For a family or for longer term tourists this is the ideal place to use as your base. Previous owners have preferred
to live in Mountain View rather than the Iguana house (which is the residence of Management). I guess this is just
another example of the diversity of mankind. It has one Double Bed and one Single bed. It also has a shower with hot and cold water, a washbasin as a toilet.
We charge on $US35.00 ($BZ70.00) per night for a single person or couple and an additional $US15.00 per
additional person occupying the room. In addition to this, there is a small additional charge of 7% which is a Sales
Tax on room rentals.As electricity is very expensive in Belize, we ask people to please switch off electrical goods
such as fans before they go out and leave the room empty. If you take the room for a week or more, the price is $US175.00 per week. If you take it by the month, we ask $US300.00 per month
Belize is a place where people relax! We serve breakfast from 8:00am every day, weekends included. The Restaurant is open all day until at least 09:30. We stay open MUCH la ter if we have functions or there are a number of people in the Bar who want to relax and have a few drinks.
Belize is an easy going place and there is very little violence of any sort once you get away from the cities. We
don’t have or tolerate any unpleasantness of any kind. This is a family place where people come to enjoy themselves and if you want to drink and get violent, this is definitely NOT the place to do it.
All rooms have locks, but we advise people not to leave valuables in the rooms - just in case. The world is a
strange place and it’s a bad idea to tempt fate. We’ll be happy to lock any valuables in our office for you, but we
don’t take any responsibility for your personal belongings. Rooms are serviced regularly and bed linen and towels changed. We have our own water supply from a dam or pond on the  property. Water going to the Restaurant and
Bar goes through our filtration and purification plant, but the water in the toilets and the Cabanas is NOT filtered and we advise you not to drink it. Its clean and fine for showers, but
drinking unpurified water is not a good idea!
Like any other hotel, we would like you to check out before 12:00 noon to make way for other guests who have booked. If at any time you have a problem, our management and Staff will always try to help you.
